Alex Rins has expressed shock over Yamaha’s early decision to replace him for the 2027 MotoGP season.
The manufacturer has reportedly signed Ai Ogura to join Jorge Martin, leaving Rins without a seat in the factory team.
Rins questioned the timing, noting that the decision was made after just three races while the team is still developing its new V4 engine.

He admitted he first learned about his impending exit through media reports before it was informally confirmed by the team director.
The Spanish rider has struggled with injuries and the bike’s overall lack of competitiveness since joining Yamaha in 2024.
Despite the setback, Rins intends to stay in MotoGP and has ruled out a move to World Superbikes for now.
He plans to focus on performing well on track for the remainder of his tenure to secure his future in the championship.
