Bezzecchi Wins Dramatic Thailand GP

Marco Bezzecchi made it three MotoGP wins in a row with victory at the Thailand Grand Prix in Buriram.

The Aprilia Racing rider controlled the race from pole position and secured his third straight win after triumphs in Portugal and Valencia in 2025. Pedro Acosta finished second for Red Bull KTM and leaves Thailand as the championship leader. Raul Fernandez completed the podium in third. Meanwhile, reigning World Champion Marc Marquez suffered a rear tyre puncture while fighting for a podium spot, ending his race early. Ducati’s record streak of 88 consecutive podium finishes also came to an end, as no Ducati rider finished on the podium for the first time since 2021.

Bezzecchi made a perfect start and quickly built a steady gap at the front. Fernandez moved into second early on, while Acosta and Marquez battled fiercely with Jorge Martin close behind. As the race progressed, Acosta eventually secured third and began chasing the front two.

With several laps remaining, drama struck when Marquez’s rear tyre failed, forcing him to retire. Other riders, including Joan Mir and Alex Marquez, also failed to finish due to separate incidents. This left Bezzecchi comfortably leading ahead of Acosta and Fernandez.

Bezzecchi cruised to victory, Acosta settled for second, and Fernandez celebrated third despite shoulder pain earlier in the weekend. Jorge Martin finished fourth, followed by Ai Ogura in fifth. Fabio Di Giannantonio was the top Ducati rider in sixth.

In Moto2, Manuel Gonzalez won after a race interrupted by two red flags, narrowly beating Izan Guevara in a tense battle. Daniel Holgado secured third place.

Moto3 delivered a thrilling finish as David Almansa claimed his first win by just 0.003 seconds ahead of Maximo Quiles in a dramatic last-corner showdown. Valentin Perrone completed the podium.

The 2026 season has started with intense action, and the championship now heads to Brazil for the next round.
