Round 5 of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship made history in Belgrade, Serbia, as the city hosted its first-ever SuperEnduro Grand Prix in front of 10,000 fans at the Belgrade Arena.
Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt delivered another dominant performance, taking maximum points in the Prestige class and moving closer to his sixth world title. It was his fifth straight overall victory this season.
In SuperPole, Bolt stayed unbeaten by setting the fastest lap, finishing 1.3 seconds ahead of Triumph’s Jonny Walker. Eddie Karlsson and Toby Martyn (both Stark Future) followed in third and fourth.
In Prestige Final 1, Mitch Brightmore grabbed the holeshot, but Bolt quickly fought to the front. Despite a late crash, Bolt recovered and secured the win. Brightmore finished second, with Walker third.
Final 2 saw Alfredo Gomez take the holeshot before several lead changes. Bolt again pushed forward strongly, overtook Walker, and claimed another victory. Karlsson and Martyn completed the podium positions, while Walker dropped to fifth after contact with a back marker.
In Final 3, Karlsson briefly led, but Bolt charged through the field and took control with two laps remaining. He won his third race of the night. Brightmore finished second, Karlsson third, and Martyn fourth.
Overall in Prestige, Bolt stood on top of the podium again. Brightmore secured second overall, and Karlsson placed third.
In the Junior category, Spain’s Manuel Gómez achieved his first-ever overall SuperEnduro win, also marking Stark Future’s first victory in the class. Toby Shaw won two races but lost the overall by just one point. Fraiser Lampkin earned his first podium finish in third. Championship leader Milan Schmüser suffered a leg injury earlier in the day.
In the Youth Cup, Poland’s Wojtek Walczak strengthened his championship lead with two race wins. He topped the overall standings ahead of Eneko Martinez and Luca Kropitsch.
The championship now moves to Newcastle, United Kingdom, for Round 6 on February 28. Bolt said he was pleased with his performance despite difficult starts, while Gómez called his Junior win a dream come true. Walczak described his double victory as a perfect result after tough battles.
