Marko Exits Red Bull

Helmut Marko — the long-time motorsport adviser of Red Bull Racing — has announced he will leave his role at the end of 2025, ending more than 20 years with the team.

Although the official reason is retirement at age 82, the decision appears to reflect deeper changes within the team’s leadership and corporate structure.

For star driver Max Verstappen — who has frequently credited Marko for his career and once had a clause in his contract tied to Marko’s presence — the exit removes a major supportive figure.

That said, Verstappen’s contract remains valid through 2028 and he has reaffirmed his commitment to Red Bull for now — but Marko’s departure adds uncertainty about his long-term future at the team.
