FIA has raised the number of Super Licence points awarded to top finishers in IndyCar Series.
From 2026 onward, while the champion still gets 40 points and the runner-up 30, the points for 3rd to 9th place have increased: 3rd now gets 25 points (instead of 20), 4th gets 20 (instead of 10), 5th gets 15 (instead of 8), 6th gets 10 (instead of 6), 7th gets 8 (instead of 4), 8th gets 6 (instead of 3), 9th gets 3 (instead of 2), and 10th remains 1 point.
This change makes it easier for more IndyCar drivers to reach the 40-point threshold and become eligible for a FIA Super Licence — the license required to race in Formula 1.
