The Italian manufacturer achieved an astonishing velocity on the track’s massive main straight, highlighting the massive aerodynamic and engine steps made by the team.
Paddock insiders are highly skeptical that this newly established record will survive Sunday’s full-distance grand prix race.
Historically, slipstream battles during the actual race generate much higher peak velocities as riders pull each other down the straight in tight groups.
