Alonso Clarifies F1 Retirement Plans

Fernando Alonso has addressed ongoing rumors about his future, stating he is not yet ready to leave Formula 1.

The two-time world champion emphasized that his decision to stay depends on his own performance and motivation rather than his age.

He explained that as long as he feels fast and remains competitive against the younger generation, he sees no reason to stop racing.

Alonso currently drives for Aston Martin and remains a key figure in the team’s long-term project to reach the front of the grid.

While he acknowledged that retirement will eventually come, he confirmed that his current focus is entirely on the 2026 season and beyond.

The Spaniard’s comments follow a series of strong performances that have proven he can still compete at the highest level of the sport.

He concluded by saying that when the day comes that he no longer feels capable of giving 100%, he will be the first to walk away.
