Oscar Piastri has rejected the idea that Zak Brown is a “villain” after some fans claimed the McLaren boss favored teammate Lando Norris during the 2025 Formula 1 title battle.
Some supporters believed McLaren’s decisions during the season helped Norris more, which led to criticism of Brown, especially among Australian fans.
However, Piastri said he does not see Brown that way and defended his team boss, explaining that their relationship remains strong and there is no personal problem.
He added that many outside opinions do not reflect what really happens inside the team and that McLaren tried to manage the championship fight fairly between both drivers.
The comments came ahead of the new Formula 1 season, where Piastri hopes to move on from last year’s controversy and focus on fighting for the title again.
