MotoGP Returns to Hungary

MotoGP is making a long-awaited return to Hungary for the first time since 1992, with the 2025 season featuring the newly built Balaton Park Circuit. The Hungarian Grand Prix is scheduled for the weekend of August 22–24, and both MotoGP and the Superbike World Championship will race on this modern track near Lake Balaton.

Balaton Park, which opened in 2023, is located just 85 kilometers from Budapest. The circuit is undergoing upgrades, including track modifications and improved infrastructure, to meet the high standards required for hosting world-class motorcycle racing events. These changes are aimed at ensuring rider safety and providing thrilling racing action for fans.

The return of MotoGP to Hungary represents a significant milestone, bringing international motorsport back to Central Europe after more than three decades. The scenic location combined with a technically challenging circuit is expected to offer an exciting experience for both riders and spectators. Organizers are also planning facilities and amenities to accommodate fans, making it a full-fledged international racing event.

This comeback highlights Hungary’s growing presence in the global motorsport scene and adds a fresh, challenging venue to the MotoGP calendar for the 2025 season.
