1st FIM Intercontinental Games: A Powerful Celebration of Global Talent and Unity: The first-ever FIM Intercontinental Games (ICG) will take place on 30 November and 1 December 2024 at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto in Spain. This event will bring together riders from all six of the FIM’s Continental Unions (CONUs) to celebrate the FIM’s core values and commitment to diversity.
The ICG is part of the FIM’s 120th anniversary celebrations. The competition will initially feature the Supersport and Supersport 300 categories, with plans to add more classes in the future.
This event is a major logistical and financial investment, supported by ICG Official Partners and the City of Jerez. The city has helped with accommodation and logistics, while Dorna and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports will broadcast the event.
The City of Jerez expressed excitement, saying the event will turn the city into the motorcycling capital of the world, with riders from six continents. They also highlighted the event’s focus on youth development and inclusivity, including opportunities for women riders.
Circuito de Jerez also welcomed the ICG, hoping it will grow into a key event, attracting young talent and providing new opportunities for riders from all over the world.
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta added that he is proud to support the event, as it celebrates both the FIM’s history and the sport’s future.
Warner Bros. Discovery Sports will broadcast the event on its Max platform and other channels, offering live coverage to fans around the world.
Yamaha is providing the R7 and R3 motorcycles for the competition, which are perfect for the ICG’s classes. Yamaha’s Managing Director emphasized the importance of inclusivity and talent development in the sport.
Dunlop Tyres is also supporting the event, providing tyres for the races, while SPIDI and XPD will provide race suits and boots to ensure the safety of the riders. AIROH is supplying custom helmets for all the competitors.
Beta Tools will support the mechanics with professional tools, and Panta Racing Fuel is the official fuel supplier for the event.
FIM President Jorge Viegas expressed his excitement for the event, thanking all the partners for their support in making the ICG a reality.
