Swedish driver Felix Rosenqvist has won the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500, securing victory in the closest finish in the event’s history.
The Meyer Shank Racing driver clinched his first Indy 500 title by beating Team Penske’s David Malukas to the finish line by a razor-thin margin of just 0.0233 seconds.
The highly dramatic race was disrupted by rain and a late red flag, which ultimately set up a chaotic, green-white one-lap shootout to decide the winner.
Malukas initially made a bold outside move to seize the lead on the final lap, but Rosenqvist powered back on the home stretch to claim a sensational photo-finish victory.
The action-packed event also set a new milestone for competitiveness, featuring an all-time record of 70 official lead changes around the famous 2.5-mile oval.
