O’Ward Leads Indy 500 Practice

Pato O’Ward set the fastest pace during the third day of practice for the Indianapolis 500, reaching a top speed of 227.308 mph.

The session was highly productive for the Arrow McLaren driver, who managed to lead the speed charts as teams focused on refining their race setups and aerodynamic balance.

Behind O’Ward, the competition remained incredibly tight, with several drivers posting speeds very close to the lead mark during both individual and “tow” laps.

Teams spent a significant portion of the day practicing in groups to simulate race conditions and understand how the cars handle in heavy traffic.

Technical adjustments were a priority throughout the afternoon, as engineers worked to maximize engine performance and tire longevity ahead of the upcoming qualifying weekend.

As speeds continue to climb, O’Ward’s performance establishes him as a top contender for the prestigious pole position in the 110th running of the historic race.
