Montoya Demands Verstappen Race Ban

Former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has sparked controversy by calling for a race ban or severe penalty points against Max Verstappen following recent aggressive maneuvers.

Montoya argued that Verstappen’s defensive driving style often crosses the line of safety, forcing other drivers off the track to avoid high-speed collisions.

The veteran racer suggested that the current penalty system is too lenient, allowing dominant drivers to take risks without facing consequences that impact their championship standing.

Montoya emphasized that “parking” a driver for a race would send a much stronger message than simple time penalties, which Red Bull can often overcome with raw car speed.

While some fans agree that stricter enforcement is needed, others defend Verstappen, claiming his aggressive approach is exactly what makes modern Formula 1 racing exciting.

The FIA has not yet officially responded to these comments, but the debate has reignited discussions about the consistency of stewarding in the 2026 season.
