Marquez Gets Sprint Penalty

Marc Marquez has been given a penalty after colliding with Fabio Di Giannantonio during the MotoGP United States GP sprint race.

The incident happened on the opening lap when Marquez attempted an aggressive overtake while fighting for position.

He lost control of his bike under braking and crashed, taking Di Giannantonio down with him.

Race officials ruled that Marquez was responsible for the crash and handed him a long-lap penalty for the main Grand Prix.

Di Giannantonio was forced to retire from the sprint due to the damage, while Marquez continued but finished far down the order.

The penalty makes Marquez’s race more difficult, as he will have to serve it during Sunday’s main event.
