Yamaha to Race V4 in 2026

Yamaha has officially confirmed that its YZR-M1 MotoGP bikes will switch from their long-used inline-four engine to a V4 configuration starting in the 2026 season.

The V4 engine is expected to deliver better acceleration, improved braking performance, and more adaptability with modern tyres and aero setups.

This marks the end of an era for Yamaha’s iconic inline-four, which has powered their success for decades.
