Hamilton Ditches Ferrari Race Simulator

Lewis Hamilton has chosen to completely abandon his race preparation work in Ferrari’s simulator after a breakthrough podium finish at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion secured a stellar second-place finish in Montreal, chasing down Max Verstappen in the final stages to claim his best race result since joining Ferrari.

Ahead of the weekend, Hamilton explicitly decided to skip his usual sessions at Maranello, arguing that the virtual simulator setups are highly inconsistent and rarely match real-world track behavior.

Instead of driving simulated laps, he spent his time doing a deep data dive with his engineers, focusing closely on corner balance, braking stability, and mechanical adjustments.

Following his strong on-track performance, Hamilton noted that skipping the simulator allowed him to find a brand-new setup that completely transformed his car, convincing him to continue this approach moving forward.
