Mercedes Duo Discuss Sprint Collision

Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli have held a productive clearing-the-air discussion following their high-profile on-track collision during the Canada Sprint race.

The contact occurred in the closing stages of the short-form race, heavily compromising both drivers’ finishing positions and costing the team valuable constructors’ points.

Speaking after the event, both teammates played down any rumors of lingering tension within the garage, framing the costly incident as a routine racing misunderstanding.

The young Italian driver admitted he learned a valuable lesson regarding overtaking boundaries, while his experienced teammate accepted partial blame for leaving insufficient racing room.

Moving forward, senior management at Mercedes confirmed that no team orders will be implemented, trusting both competitors to race cleanly throughout the grand prix weekend.
