Ferrari’s “Macarena Wing” Coming

Scuderia Ferrari hasn’t abandoned its unusual rear wing concept — nicknamed the “Macarena wing” — and plans to run it at the Japanese Grand Prix later this season.

The team has been testing this unique aero part to improve balance and straight‑line speed after mixed results in recent races, and engineers believe it still has potential.

Despite some fan and rival speculation that Ferrari might drop the idea, team insiders say the development is ongoing and they expect to debut the wing when the track conditions suit it best.

Ferrari hopes the new rear wing will help reduce drag and increase speed on fast circuits without sacrificing cornering performance, which could narrow the gap to rivals.

The Japanese Grand Prix will be the first likely opportunity for the car to show whether the “Macarena wing” genuinely brings the performance boost Ferrari is seeking.

If successful, Ferrari may use the concept at additional races; if not, they have backup aero plans ready.

Overall, the team remains committed to innovation in its aero package as it looks to challenge for race wins and ultimately the championship.
