At the 2026 FIM Ice Speedway World Championship in Inzell, Germany, Niclas Svensson claimed victory on the second day’s Grand Final, beating local favourite Luca Bauer.
Reigning champion Martin Haarahiltunen had been dominant in the heats and was leading the Grand Final when another rider’s mistake caused both of them to crash out.
Haarahiltunen couldn’t restart, so Svensson took the top spot and the win, while Bauer finished second in the two‑rider final.
Even though Haarahiltunen didn’t win this race, his third‑place points keep him in the overall championship lead heading into the deciding final in the Netherlands next month.
The 2026 championship will conclude at Heerenveen in the Netherlands on 11 April, where the world title will be decided.
