Haarahiltunen Dominates Ice Speedway

Defending champion Martin Haarahiltunen won all his heat races and then the Grand Final in the opening round of the 2026 FIM Ice Speedway World Championship at the Max Aicher Arena in Inzell, Germany. It was a convincing performance that put him at the top of the standings early in the season.

Haarahiltunen’s victory continued his strong record in ice speedway, and he aims to add another world title after overcoming injury earlier in the year.

The top riders from Scandinavia filled the podium spots, with Finnish racers Max Koivula and Heikki Huusko finishing behind him and Sweden’s Niclas Svensson in fourth.

Racing in the 2026 championship will continue with more scheduled Finals, leading up to the final event in Heerenveen, Netherlands, next month.
