2026 FIM Commissions Conference Highlights

The 2026 FIM Commissions Conference took place from February 6–8 in Lyon, France, bringing together 412 FIM members, including board members, commission directors, experts, promoters, and 2025 world champions for three days of discussions to advance motorcycle sport.

The event began with Superlicence and Technical Seminars, including practical sessions on off-road disciplines. On February 7, the Plenary Session featured speeches from FIM President Jorge Viegas, championship promoters, and signing of the QuadCross World Championship 2026–2030 agreement.

Key topics included renewal of commission directors, FIM Event Licence, a new online payment system, helmet homologation updates, and the FIM Safeguarding Framework. New concussion guidelines for rider safety were also presented.

The conference recognized distinguished service with honorary memberships and diplomas for members with 15–35 years of contribution. Additionally, 2025 FIM World Champions Sam & Tom Christie and Lukas Höllbacher received FIM gold medals.

All 14 commissions, international judges, and the ethical chamber held planning meetings for 2026 projects. FIM President Jorge Viegas highlighted the importance of shared expertise, passion, and collaboration, emphasizing that the conference sets the stage for a successful 2026 season.
