Qatari racer Nasser Al-Attiyah secured his sixth Dakar Rally victory at the 2026 event in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, equalling the record for most Dakar wins in cars.
Driving for Dacia Sandriders, Al-Attiyah also achieved his 50th stage win, and his Belgian navigator Fabian Lurquin claimed his first Dakar triumph alongside him.
After a tough 13-day desert race with multiple leaders and stage winners, Al-Attiyah’s consistency over the final days helped him pull ahead by over 9 minutes to take the overall title.
Joan Roma and Alex Haro finished second in a Ford Raptor, while Mattias Ekström and Emil Bergkvist completed the podium in another Ford.
The victory marks a major achievement for the Dacia Sandriders team, and Al-Attiyah has now moved closer to the all-time Dakar wins record held by Stéphane Peterhansel.
