Adrian Newey will become Aston Martin F1 Team’s Team Principal starting from the 2026 season.
He previously joined the team in March 2025 as Managing Technical Partner.
Under the restructured leadership, current principal Andy Cowell will move to a newly created role of Chief Strategy Officer, focusing on integrating the new Honda power unit, fuel, and chassis with key partners.
Newey’s promotion is part of the team’s preparations for the major technical and regulatory changes coming in 2026, marking a fresh start for Aston Martin as a full works team.
The team hopes Newey’s vast experience — including many past championship-winning cars — will help them become competitive under the new regulations.
