Verstappen Mocks McLaren Strategy Choice

Max Verstappen openly mocked McLaren’s high-stakes tire gamble during the Canadian Grand Prix, calling their choice to use intermediates on a dry track highly amusing.

The reigning world champion took immediate advantage of McLaren’s strategic blunder, passing their struggling cars early on to build a massive gap at the front of the pack.

Verstappen revealed that he and his Red Bull engineers knew immediately that the heavy downpour predicted by McLaren’s radar would never actually hit the circuit.

He expressed total confusion over why a front-running team would take such an unnecessary risk, noting that it completely ruined what should have been a very strong race for McLaren.

Following his dominant victory, Verstappen emphasized that executing a simple, error-free strategy remains the most effective way to win races, rather than relying on unpredictable weather forecasts.
