Citroen Proposes Formula E Revamp

Citroen has presented an innovative proposal to radically transform Formula E’s highly controversial Pit Boost format.

The current system, which requires drivers to make a mandatory fast-charging pit stop during the race, has faced heavy criticism from teams for ruining strategy and causing artificial results.

Instead of forcing cars to sit stationary in the pit lane, Citroen suggests turning the boost into a highly dynamic, wheel-to-wheel overtaking challenge on the main straight.

Under this new concept, drivers would activate their extra power allocations dynamically in specific designated zones, much like the Drag Reduction System (DRS) currently used in Formula 1.

Formula E officials have confirmed they are evaluating Citroen’s idea, as they look to improve racing entertainment while keeping the championship’s core focus on advanced electric vehicle technology.
