Lando Norris claimed a historic first Formula 1 victory at the Miami Grand Prix, ending his long wait for a race win with a brilliant performance for McLaren.
The British driver took advantage of a perfectly timed Safety Car period, which allowed him to pit and maintain the lead ahead of Max Verstappen.
Once the race restarted, Norris showed incredible pace, pulling away from Verstappen’s Red Bull to cross the finish line with a comfortable margin.
Max Verstappen finished in second place, struggling with car balance issues after hitting a bollard earlier in the race, while Charles Leclerc completed the podium in third.
The victory marks a major milestone for McLaren, proving that their recent car upgrades have made them genuine contenders against the dominant Red Bulls.
The Miami crowd erupted in cheers for Norris, who had previously holds the record for the most podium finishes without a win before this career-defining breakthrough.
