Mr. Abdulrahman Al Mannai has been elected as the new President of FIM Asia after winning 21 out of 28 votes at the FIM Asia General Assembly held in Bangkok on January 23.
He represents the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and has been its President since 2016. He was also re-elected to the FIM Board of Directors in 2024.
He takes over from Mr. Stephan Carapiet of the Philippines, who led FIM Asia during several terms between 2010 and 2025.
The newly elected FIM Asia Board members are Mohammed Rhiza Bin Ghazi from Malaysia, Gong Hong Guo from China, and Kraitos Wongsawan from Thailand.
The decision for one remaining board position has been postponed until the 2026 General Assembly.
FIM President Jorge Viegas congratulated the new team and thanked Stephan Carapiet for his long service.
