The Aston Martin F1 Team is undergoing a significant restructure of its engineering department, with up to seven senior engineers either leaving or being reassigned to its advanced technologies division.
Among those departing is Eric Blandin, who joined as deputy technical director in 2022 and later moved to an aero role.
The shake-up is being driven by newly appointed technical chiefs Adrian Newey and Enrico Cardile, who are refocusing the team’s efforts on the 2026 car project and addressing weak areas, such as the team’s simulator setup, which Newey had flagged as a “handicap for two years.”
Team representatives say this isn’t a knee-jerk reaction to the team’s disappointing 2025 results but a planned realignment for future success.
