MotoGP has announced that the 2027 Australian Grand Prix will be held in Adelaide, South Australia, replacing the long‑time venue at Phillip Island. This marks a major shift in the championship’s calendar and will be MotoGP’s first race on a city street circuit.
The new street circuit will run through the heart of Adelaide and use parts of the old Formula 1 layout, redesigned to meet modern motorcycle racing safety standards. The track is planned to be about 4.195 km long with 18 turns, where riders are expected to reach speeds over 340 km/h.
This change ends nearly 30 years of MotoGP at Phillip Island, with the final race there scheduled for October 2026.
Officials say the Adelaide MotoGP, planned for November 2027, will bring significant economic benefits, boost tourism, and strengthen the city’s reputation for hosting major international events.
