MotoGP testing in Sepang has finished, and Alex Marquez stayed fastest overall after three days. The 2025 Malaysia GP winner set a best lap of 1:56.402 and also posted the best sprint simulation average, showing he’s very strong at this track.
Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) made a late charge and finished second overall, proving Aprilia has improved a lot even without Jorge Martin taking part. Fabio Di Giannantonio ended testing third, giving Ducati another strong result.
World Champion Marc Marquez tested different aero packages and had his first crash of 2026 at Turn 1, but he was fine. Francesco Bagnaia said he felt more comfortable than before and even looked stronger than Marc in a 10-lap sprint simulation, which could be interesting for Ducati.
Honda had a tougher final day because of lower grip after rain, but the team still believes the bike has clearly improved. KTM riders Acosta and Viñales were extremely close in overall times, and both KTM teams seemed positive.
Yamaha returned to action on Day 3 after missing time to fix a technical issue. Alex Rins was Yamaha’s best rider overall, while Quartararo’s time from Day 1 placed him lower since he stopped testing due to injury.
Now teams move on to the Buriram test, with the season launch in Kuala Lumpur coming first.
