Max Verstappen has won Autosport’s 2025 Driver of the Year award after a fan vote.
The Red Bull driver took eight wins in 2025 and fought a close title battle against McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, missing the championship by two points after a difficult start to the season.
Readers voted Verstappen ahead of Norris, Piastri, Alex Palou, Oliver Rowland, and Marc Marquez.
The award was presented at the 38th Autosport Awards at London’s Roundhouse on 21 January 2026, and it marked Verstappen’s fifth straight win of this particular honour.
