MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró has announced he is giving up professional cycling because injuries he suffered have made it increasingly difficult to continue.
After joining a cycling team following his MotoGP career, Espargaró struggled with his physical condition, and those problems also affected his 2025 role with Honda in MotoGP. He said the injuries kept holding him back, and rather than push through, he decided it’s best to stop competing in pro cycling.
Espargaró is focusing on recovery and other opportunities now that cycling at the professional level is no longer possible for him.
