Sand Races Championship Decider

This weekend (28–30 November), Britain’s Todd Kellett will compete in Portugal’s Monte Gordo Sand Experience, the fifth round of the 2025 FIM Sand Races World Championship. A victory in the premier Moto class will secure him the championship title.

Other leaders include France’s Pablo Violet, who can retain his Quad class crown, and Uruguay’s Fernando Rubio, who could claim the Moto Veteran title. In Moto Women, former champion Mathilde Denis currently leads after her recent win.

Kellett, undefeated at Monte Gordo since 2023, faces pressure from teammate Milko Potisek. Third-placed Jeremy Hauquier has only a slim chance of overtaking him. In Moto Women, Denis leads by just two points over Belgium’s Amandine Verstappen, who suffered mechanical problems last weekend.

Moto Junior is led by French rider Evan Demeester, while Freddy Seguin holds a narrow lead in Moto Vintage. Rubio dominates Moto Veteran with a 31-point lead, potentially clinching the title this weekend. Quad champion Violet also holds a strong lead heading into the final round, while the Quad Veteran category is led by Benoit Sebert.

Races start Saturday at 12:45 (Moto) and 15:30 (Quad), with Sunday’s Moto and Quad races at 13:45 and 15:30, respectively. Fans can follow updates via FIM social media platforms and the Sportity app using #FIMSandRaces.
