During the Friday morning second practice session (FP2) of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the track was red‑flagged because a manhole cover near Turn 17 was loose.
Officials halted the session with two minutes remaining as investigators went out to inspect the issue.
The stoppage came just as drivers were starting their fast‑lap runs on soft tyres.
