2025 is Here! Barcelona Test Kicks Off New Era!: The MotoGP™ riders are back on track after the season finale, kicking off the new era with the Barcelona Test. It was an action-packed day with many riders testing new bikes and equipment for 2025.
Top Performers
Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) was the fastest, followed by Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha). Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) was close behind in third, just ahead of his new teammate Marc Marquez.
Jorge Martin at Aprilia
Jorge Martin made his debut on the 2025 Aprilia RS-GP. He tested both the 2024 and 2025 bikes, though he had an early crash. Still, he made a strong start with good feedback on the bike.
New Faces and Testing
Raul Fernandez (Aprilia) was impressive, finishing in fifth. Rookie Ai Ogura (Honda) had a crash but still managed to complete 86 laps. Marc Marquez also made his Ducati debut, testing the new GP24 and GP25 bikes, ending up in fourth place.
Bagnaia & Ducati
Bagnaia tested both the GP24 and GP25 bikes, finishing third on Day 1. He’s aiming to defend his World Champion title in 2025.
Alex Marquez Shines
Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) enjoyed his first test on the Ducati GP24, setting the fastest lap time and getting comfortable with the bike.
Other Teams and Riders
Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Racing) got familiar with the Ducati GP24, while rookie Pedro Acosta (KTM) joined the KTM factory team, finishing in ninth. KTM also tested new exhausts and fairings.
Rookie and Veteran Tests
Rookies like Fermin Aldeguer (Gresini Racing) impressed, while veterans like Maverick Viñales (KTM) and Enea Bastianini (KTM) got to grips with new machinery.
Honda & Other Teams
Honda’s Luca Marini and Joan Mir tested new components for 2025. Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) finished as the top Honda rider in tenth place.
Looking Ahead
The Barcelona Test was just the beginning. The next big test is at Sepang, so the countdown to the 2025 season is on!
