Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has defended his team’s communication style following critical comments from Max Verstappen during the Canadian Grand Prix.
Verstappen expressed immense frustration over the team radio during the race, loudly venting about a strategic delay in his final pit stop that nearly cost him a podium position.
Responding to the outburst, Horner explained that tense “I told you so” moments are completely natural and necessary when operating under extreme, high-stakes racing conditions.
He emphasized that the pit wall must make split-second decisions based on live tracking data, which occasionally clashes with what the driver experiences directly behind the wheel.
Despite the heated radio exchange, Horner dismissed any rumors of internal friction, insisting that open, blunt honesty is precisely what has made their partnership so successful over the years.
