The Williams F1 Team says several ideas are being discussed to improve the performance of the new 2026 Formula 1 cars.
Team principal James Vowles revealed that four to five different proposals are currently being considered.
The main concern is that the new cars depend heavily on electrical energy and sometimes do not have enough battery power to run at full speed for an entire lap.
This problem became clear during the season-opening race at Albert Park Circuit.
Because the track has few heavy braking zones, the cars struggled to recharge enough energy and were sometimes forced to slow down even while drivers kept the throttle open.
Some drivers have already called for changes to make the racing better.
However, others believe it may be difficult to make major changes during the season because teams have already spent huge resources developing the new rules.
Vowles said Formula 1 teams and officials will study the first few races carefully before deciding which solution is best.
He added that the cars are still exciting to watch, but improvements are possible and discussions are ongoing to fix the “energy-starved” issue.
