FIM MX Academy Expands

The FIM MX Academy continued to grow its global development efforts throughout 2025, running a full schedule of training programmes aimed at educating motocross trainers and supporting the long-term development of young riders. These programmes help trainers coach young athletes more effectively while also guiding parents through the rider development journey.

Building on the strong start of the MXGP Academy in Estonia and the successful MXGP Women’s Academy in France, the 2025 season highlighted the Academy’s focus on structured education, inclusivity, and long-term growth.

Global Training Programmes in 2025

In 2025, the FIM MX Academy delivered four major on-site programmes across Europe, South America, and Asia, showing its truly international reach.

  • Estonia (April 4–6): The season began with a Motocross Training Club (MTC) programme involving 12 trainers and 12 young riders, focusing on riding skills, safety, and coaching methods.

  • Czech Republic (October 17–19): Another MTC programme in Jinin brought together 9 trainers and 15 riders, emphasizing practical training and strong coach–rider interaction adapted to local needs.

  • Ecuador (November 6–8): An MTC programme with 7 trainers and 7 riders supported the growth of motocross in emerging regions by providing access to high-level international training.

  • Thailand (November 26–28): The year concluded with a Regional Training Centre (RTC) programme for trainers and national federations, aimed at strengthening national motocross structures in line with the FIM’s long-term development model.

Supporting Trainers Worldwide

A major goal of the MX Academy is building a strong global coaching network. Since its launch, the Academy has trained more than 300 trainers worldwide, helping standardize and professionalize motocross coaching across different regions.

In December 2025, two trainer meetings were held in Riga and Malaga, bringing together 28 trainers from 5 countries. These meetings encouraged experience sharing, continued learning, and stronger connections among coaches who had already completed Academy programmes.

Looking Ahead to 2026

The FIM has already started preparations for 2026, hosting a Balkan Area RTC and National Selection programme with 9 trainers from 6 countries. More programme dates for 2026 will be announced soon.

Overall, the 2025 season showed the FIM MX Academy’s strong commitment to education, collaboration, and sustainable growth. Through trainer education, rider development, and community building, the FIM continues to play a key role in shaping the future of motocross around the world.
