Kellett Eyes Sand Championship

This weekend (28–30 November), Todd Kellett of Drag’on Yamaha will compete at Portugal’s Monte Gordo Sand Experience, the fifth round of the 2025 FIM Sand Races World Championship. A win could make him FIM World Champion in the premier Moto class.

Kellett, unbeaten at Monte Gordo since 2023, has already won back-to-back World Cup titles. With Moto now upgraded to full FIM World Championship status, stakes are higher, but Kellett remains focused on victory rather than the title. His ten-round win streak across past seasons shows his remarkable consistency and preparation.

Kellett’s teammate, Milko Potisek, returns this year after missing 2024 due to injury. The 35-year-old French rider, a three-time Enduropale du Touquet winner, has been Kellett’s main rival, currently 29 points behind. Kellett appreciates having Milko back, as they push each other in training.

Races start Saturday at 12:45 (90-minute Moto) and 15:30 (1-hour Quad), with Sunday featuring a 1-hour Moto race at 13:45 and a 45-minute Quad race at 15:30. Fans can follow updates via FIM social media and the Sportity app using #FIMSandRaces.
