Six-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Jacky Ickx completed a private test session behind the wheel of the brand-new Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar.
The 81-year-old Belgian racing legend took to France’s Circuit Paul Ricard to get his very first on-track experience inside a modern top-class prototype.
To surprise the veteran driver, Genesis Magma Racing wrapped the advanced hybrid race car in a special midnight blue livery with a white stripe, perfectly matching Ickx’s iconic helmet design.
Ickx, who serves as an official advisor and brand ambassador for Genesis, completed his test laps smoothly with guidance from triple Le Mans winner André Lotterer.
The emotional track day marks a major promotional milestone for the South Korean manufacturer as they prepare for their highly anticipated debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans next month.
