The famous “Grello” Manthey Porsche has been forced to retire from the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours following a heavy crash.
The iconic green and yellow car met an early end to its race after an incident on the treacherous Nordschleife circuit during the intense endurance event.
Before the accident, the fan-favorite team was a strong contender for the victory, showing competitive pace against its rivals.
The driver involved in the crash was reported to be okay, but the structural damage to the vehicle was too severe for the crew to repair in the garage.
This retirement is a massive blow for Porsche’s hopes of securing the prestigious title, as the “Grello” entry is traditionally one of their strongest assets.
With one of the top favorites now out of the running, the remaining field faces an adjusted battle for the podium as the race moves forward.
