MXGP Season Starts Strong

The 2026 MXGP and MX2 World Championship season began in spectacular style at the Bariloche circuit in Argentina, attracting large crowds and exciting racing action.

FIM Motocross World Championship returned to Patagonia for the opening round of the season.

Riders from both the MXGP and MX2 classes competed on the new Bariloche MX Race Track, which offered a fast and challenging layout. Fans enjoyed two days of racing under sunny conditions in the scenic region near San Carlos de Bariloche.

In the premier MXGP class, Dutch rider Jeffrey Herlings delivered a strong performance to win the first Grand Prix of the year. His victory marked a successful start with his new team and showed strong form early in the championship.

In the MX2 category, defending champion Simon Längenfelder began his title defense perfectly by winning the opening round. The German rider showed patience and speed to take victory and start the season at the top.

The event marked the beginning of a long championship season that will feature multiple rounds across different countries, with the next race scheduled in Spain.
