DC IndyCar Track Revealed

IndyCar Series has officially revealed the track layout and event logo for the upcoming Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C. The race will take place on city streets around the famous National Mall in August 2026.

The event will mark the first time a major motor race is held near the National Mall in the U.S. capital, making it a historic addition to the racing calendar.

The temporary street circuit will run through central Washington, passing close to iconic landmarks and monuments. Organizers designed the track to provide exciting racing while maintaining safety for drivers and spectators.

The race, called the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, is part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence. Fans will be able to watch the event for free in many areas around the circuit.

Officials from the U.S. government, local authorities, and IndyCar joined together to unveil the circuit design and promote the event. Washington D.C. leaders hope the race will attract visitors and showcase the city to a global audience.

The event logo was also revealed, showing an IndyCar in front of the U.S. Capitol dome in patriotic red, white, and blue colors.

The Freedom 250 Grand Prix will be held from August 21–23, 2026, and will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
