Isack Hadjar said Red Bull Racing needs to improve after technical problems ruined his strong start at the Australian Grand Prix.
The young driver started third on the grid and had a very quick launch, immediately challenging George Russell for the race lead.
However, his car had almost no battery power available, which meant he could not use the electric boost that other drivers had.
Because of this problem he quickly lost positions, first to Charles Leclerc and then to Lewis Hamilton during the opening lap.
Hadjar explained that his start was excellent and he believed he could easily take the lead, but the car suddenly lost power due to the empty battery.
He added that the engine sounded wrong and he soon realized he probably would not finish the race, calling the situation disappointing and urging the team to perform better in the future.
