Verstappen Criticises F1 Rules

Max Verstappen has repeated his criticism of the 2026 Formula 1 regulations, saying many of the problems teams are now facing were issues he already warned about back in 2023.

The Red Bull driver described the new rules as too focused on energy management and not enough on real racing, a view that has sparked debate among teams and fans.

He said he hasn’t heard any official complaints from F1 bosses about his comments and stands by his honest opinion, saying most drivers privately share his concerns.

When asked about specific performance issues—like difficult starts and energy harvesting—Verstappen said he pointed them out years ago, but teams didn’t act sooner.

Although small updates might still come, he doubts the overall package will change dramatically unless major rule revisions are made, noting that big changes are unlikely before the season starts.

Note: Verstappen’s comments come as Formula 1 tests the new cars ahead of the 2026 season kickoff in March.
