At the first day of pre-season IndyCar testing at Sebring International Raceway in Florida, reigning series champion Alex Palou set the fastest lap time among the drivers taking part. Nearly all IndyCar teams were running on the short 2.7 km version of the bumpy circuit as they prepare for the upcoming season.
The test runs over two days, with cars split into groups that rotate between morning and afternoon sessions. On Monday, 23 cars recorded official times, and Palou’s quick lap put him at the top of the speed charts for the day.
Behind Palou, other experienced drivers such as Felix Rosenqvist, Rinus VeeKay and Josef Newgarden also posted strong times, showing competitive pace across the field as teams gather data ahead of the season opener.
