Jordan Baja Round Two

Riders will compete this week in Aqaba for the Jordan Baja, the second round of the 2026 FIM Bajas World Cup. The event is based at the Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort, and the race will run through the famous desert landscapes of Wadi Rum in southern Jordan.

The competition includes 472.19km of special stages, across a total event distance of 821.69km, with tough navigation and terrain expected.

The action starts on Thursday, February 12, with a 15.50km Prologue in Aseza, which will decide the starting order. On Friday, riders face the longest stage: 245.02km across Wadi Rum. The race ends on Saturday, February 14, with a second stage of 211.67km, followed by the podium ceremony and press conference at the Ayla Resort.

In the motorcycle class, Mohammed Al-Balooshi has been the dominant rider in Jordan since 2019, winning five times. But he is still recovering from an elbow injury and will face strong pressure from Alex McInnes, who won the first round in Saudi Arabia.

Other top riders expected to challenge include Sultan Al-Balooshi, Rafic Eid, Abdullah Al-Shatti, and Sultan Al-Shanqiti. Jordan’s main local hope is Abdullah Abu Aisheh on a Yamaha. Saudi rider Abdulhalim Al-Mogheera, who finished fourth in round one, is also in the field.

Several Polish riders are competing too, including women’s standings leader Joanna Modrzewska, who will race a new Triumph TF 450 E. Riders from Germany and Great Britain are also taking part.

In the quad category, Hani Al-Noumesi, the current World Cup champion, leads the standings. He will battle Saudi rivals Abdulaziz Al-Atawi, Ahmad Al-Jaber, and Haitham Al-Tuwaijri for podium spots.
