MotoGP will kick off the 2026 season with a major city-wide launch event in Kuala Lumpur on February 7, making it the first time the championship opens its season in the Malaysian capital. The event will take place around the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), turning the area into a festival space that blends racing, entertainment, and local culture.
Fans can enjoy a special MotoGP Fan Zone inside the KLCC Shopping Mall from February 2 to 7, open daily, featuring interactive displays and experiences linked to the sport.
The main celebration on February 7 will include a close-up bike display at the KLCC entrance, followed by a night event beneath the Petronas Twin Towers. The evening program will feature an urban bike run, rider introductions on the main stage, and live music, creating a dramatic and memorable start to the 2026 MotoGP season.
MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta said Kuala Lumpur’s energy makes it an ideal place for the season launch, and the event aims to bring fans in Southeast Asia closer to the sport. More details about performers and celebrity guests will be announced later, with thousands of fans expected to attend.
