Marquez Wins Dramatic Sprint

Marc Márquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) extended his unbeaten streak at the Monster Energy Grand Prix of Catalonia as Álex Márquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) crashed from the lead in the Tissot Sprint.

Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) finished just over a second behind Marc Márquez to take silver, while Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) secured third after a battle with KTM riders.

The opening lap saw intense action with Álex Márquez, Marc Márquez, Quartararo, and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) fighting for position. Several overtakes occurred, with Márquez eventually settling behind his brother, chasing him down.

Álex Márquez led comfortably until a crash at Turn 10 ended his race, handing the lead to Marc Márquez. Márquez maintained his advantage on the final lap, claiming his 14th Sprint victory of the season.

Pedro Acosta, Enea Bastianini, and Brad Binder completed a tight battle for fourth to sixth places, while Johann Zarco, Luca Marini, and rookie Ai Ogura scored points further down the order.

Ducati secured the 2025 MotoGP Constructors’ Championship, marking their seventh overall title, while Marc Márquez is poised for a remarkable comeback in the Riders’ Championship.

In Moto2, Dani Holgado (CFMoto Impulse Aspar Team) earned his first career pole, with Jake Dixon and Collin Veijer joining him on the front row.

In Moto3, David Almansa (Leopard Racing) claimed his first career pole in Barcelona, ahead of Joel Kelso and Angel Piqueras. Championship leader Jose Antonio Rueda qualified seventh.
