Hamilton Faces Canada Penalty Risk

Lewis Hamilton is facing a potential grid penalty at the Canadian Grand Prix after being investigated by stewards for impeding another driver during qualifying.

The seven-time world champion allegedly blocked a rival on a fast lap, forcing the trailing car to lift off and compromise their time.

The Mercedes driver explained that poor visibility and late radio communication from his team garage left him unaware of the rapidly approaching car behind him.

Stewards met with team representatives after the session to review telemetry data and track cameras before making a final decision on grid positioning.

If found guilty of a sporting infraction, the veteran driver will slide backward on the starting grid, heavily compromising his strategy for Sunday’s race.
